Common Ground in the Francophone West African Rain Forest

Guest speakers Alma Gottlieb and Philip Graham

TALK SUMMARY: In this talk, husband-and-wife-team Philip Graham and Alma Gottlieb

recount the nearly two years they have spent living in small villages in the heart of the rain

forest of Côte d’Ivoire.  There, they found common ground with their Beng neighbors, who

held sometimes radically different cultural assumptions.  Through their experiences, Graham

and Gottlieb will speak to the present moment by challenging us to re-imagine the world from

the perspectives of others.
